And the angel came in unto her; and said Hail, thou that are highly favoured,

the Lord is with thee; blessed are thou among women. (Luke1:28).

To be ‘blessed and highly favoured’ means you have been chosen to be obedient to God’s word. It means you are committed to loving and being loyal to Him. Your life then becomes a living example of God’s preferential treatment. Like Mary the mother of Jesus Christ, every woman who fears the Lord is indeed blessed and highly favoured. You have been chosen by God for a special task. Truth be told, you like Mary, have a special purpose and unique gift from God, designed to give birth to something here on earth. Mary was given the privilege and assignment of birthing the Saviour of the world. Another woman. Esther, who was also blessed and highly favored was chosen as a Queen and had the special task of using her position to save her people, the Israelites, in a strange land where they were in captivity.

Similarly, you have been chosen by God and have been ordained and assigned to birth and or do something special that will bring Salvation, Deliverance, Healing, Hope and Help of some sort to the world. That special thing may be a product or a service that has the potential to bless   all mankind.

Suffice to state however that the rare privilege of being blessed and highly favoured in most cases comes with huge responsibility. In the cases of Mary and Esther respectively, it even came with pain, shame, rejection and so many seeming negative situations that didn’t make sense initially.  If they were supposed to be blessed and highly favoured after all, one would have expected that everything would go on smoothly having been chosen by God especially with the Angelic visitation and manifestation as in the case of Mary, but that was far from the reality of her experiences.

Be that as it may, no matter what you may be going through as a woman right now, whether it be joblessness, ‘matelessness’, childlessness, bereavement, divorce, desertion by a loved one, disease, distress, or whatever form of challenge you may be going through, just remember that God loves you and has chosen you for a great and special task, He has blessed and highly favoured you. None the less, your reaction or response to whatever challenge you are faced with right now will go a long away in determining whether the reason the challenges were allowed in your life will be realized or not, and whether through the challenges you end up becoming a blessing or a curse to others ultimately.

Prayer focus:             Lord, thank you for blessing and highly favouring me. Help me to be a blessing to my world in Jesus name.

Quote:                       Seek to be a blessing than to be a blessed.
