TEXT: Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure….(2 Peter 1:10)

Growing up is your responsibility. Becoming an adult vests on you the sole responsibility for your future. The truth is you cannot move from your present phase of life to another without taking full responsibility. The amount of responsibility you are willing to take will determine your impact and income, your success and status, your results and rewards. Become responsible today and do whatsoever positive things you have to do to achieve all you desire in life. Responsibility simply means being Response able, in other words it refers to the state of being able to respond to the needs that arise within and outside your environment and your life. You are absolutely responsible for everything you are today and what you will become tomorrow. You are accountable for what you think, what you say and what you do or don’t do.
You can dream big dreams, set wonderful goals, learn how to control both your conscious and subconscious mind, improve yourself concept and actions, but none of these activities will give you any lasting results until you embrace personal responsibility.
Our text for today’s devotion catergorically enjoins us to be diligent to add to faith “virtue”, “knowledge”, “self control”, “perseverance”, “godliness”, “brotherly kindness”, “love”. Having all the above qualities in your life will prevent barrenness and unfruitfullness. Whereas not having these qualities will make you shortsighted, narrow-minded and incapable of having, talk less of experiencing any worthwhile outcomes.
God miraculously brought out the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage and the wilderness experience. But It was their responsibility to give heed to God instructions as contained in the book of the law and observe to do it so as to make their way prosperous and have good success. Unfortunately, many of them died and could not enter the promise Land of Canaan because they continued to despise, ignore and neglect God’s instruction to them to be diligent. Quit blaming anybody for your situation! you are absolutely responsible for the outcomes of your life! It is my prayer for you today that you will begin to heed God injunction to Joshua to make “This book of the law not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then YOU(and nobody else) will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”
