TEXT: LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN(Matthew 5:16)
The story is told of the great orchestra conductor, Sir Michael Costar who was conducting a rehearsal in which the orchestra was joined by a great chorus. About half way through the session with trumpet blaring, drums rolling, many other musical instruments playing and different voices singing their rich melodies; the piccolo player however didn’t play, for he muttered to himself, ” what good am i doing? I might as well not play the piccolo, after all no body can hear me any way”. So he kept the instrument to his mouth, but he made no sound. Within moments the conductor cried, “stop! stop! stop! Where is the piccolo?” The sound of the piccolo was missed by the ear of the most important person in the orchestra.
Similarly, it is much the way with our lives, whereas some people are playing their God given part, fulfilling their roles and responsibilities, making great contributions to God’s course on Earth and thus making their lives count; others are choosing to settle for mediocrity and dying in obscurity, making no sound at all.
God is the Master conductor of Earth’s great orchestra, He has created every one, including you to play some part in His great orchestra. And every part is equally important in the performance of the orchestra, no matter how great or small the part assigned to you may be perceived in your eye and that of other men. God who assigns different parts to men is watching out for the performance of all parts in the orchestra. He desires that all parts in his great orchestra produce God honoring and humanity impacting melodies. Whether you have been assigned a major or minor part in God’s great orchestra, remember that the performance cannot be complete until you make your contribution, playing your part
You need to find out what part you are expected to play and the contribution you are expected to make. You must realise that your life only count to the extent to which you find, follow and fulfill your part and purpose on earth. Living with purpose however, requires that you have a life long relationship with God your creator. This is very important and crucial because only the one who creator you is capable of helping you find, follow and fulfil your part and purpose. It is only as you relate with God your creator through an intimate relationship with His begotten son Jesus Christ that you truly live out your part and purpose in His great orchestra. Without a relationship with the Lord, you may just be running around in circles, filled with several activities and achievements that may not be of eternal value. You don’t need to live your life aimlessly like that, it is my sincere prayer for you today that God’s wisdom and power be released to you to begin to make your life count in Jesus name.
